Suzanne Lonardo: I always enjoy a story of the ordinary people, of women and especially of women who grow strong. This book is a work of fiction based on the true story of the villagers of Eyam, Derbyshire. Anna Frith tells of the touching and terrible account of the Plague of 1666. It's interesting to me how a writer begins their ideas, researches, maintains the suspense and then ends the story.
