Kaaren Dolinsky: I read the New York Times Book review of This Must Be
the Place and decided to put it on my "To Read" list since it sounded like a pleasant page turner. It lived up to my
expectations in that I read it in 2 days. Rather than giving a plot summary, I'd rather suggest that people who enjoy(ed)
Anne Tyler's quirky characters, a bit of mystery and a happy ending might find this book a refreshing twist on 30
somethings, teenagers and contemporary American culture. There is no gratuitous violence or sex scenes, yet there are
some questionable moral acts with sex and violence of a kind involved. This is not great literature nor Best Seller but
it is more than a beach read...
