Arlene Almas (08/30/11): Do you like a little ghostly activity mixed in with
your fiction? Then you might enjoy "The Raising," which takes place in a campus setting (you know
how suggestible those college students can be, especially girls, ESPECIALLY sorority girls!). The major
protagonist, Craig, along with his roommate Perry and girlfriend Nicole, form the core of a large cast
of characters including friends, teachers, and university staff. There is a car accident, but is
it an accident? There is a death, but is it an accident or murder? And is it, in fact, a death?
If it is a death, can the victim still be seen around campus? The author keeps the suspense percolating
as the narrative shifts from person to person, and leads the reader on to the conclusion.
