The Lucky Oneby Nicholas Sparks |
Gwendolyn Waring: Although I have loved every book
by this author, and look forward to all of his books, I barely got through this
one. The romantic story line seemed lackluster, compared to the others. I was
disappointed.
Rating: **
Arlene Almas: Like Alma, I enjoyed this
romantic tale by the author of several books which have been made into
popular movies (The Notebook, Message in a Bottle, Nights in Rodanthe).
Logan Thibault, as a Marine in Iraq, finds a photo of a beautiful young
woman; he is unable to find the owner of the photo, and his best friend
convinces him that it is a good luck talisman. Although injured, he does
in fact survive and returns to Colorado. Logan walks across the country
with his dog Zeus, determined to find the woman using clues from the picture.
Meanwhile, a beautiful divorced mother named Beth is helping her grandmother
run a kennel in a small North Carolina town, but is having problems with her
ex-husband. I won't give anything else away except to say that this story is
easy to get into and enjoy.

Alma Klein: This is another interesting love
story, which has many twists and turns. Having read many of his books,
I have discovered his pattern in writing and thinking. This book has a
good story and you should enjoy it.
