The Last of Her Kindby Sigrid Nunez |
Judy Stanton: An interesting book that begs
for discussion, The Last of Her Kind never gets boring.
What starts as a book about college friendship in the 60s turns into a hard look
at racism, idealism, and justice. Although the story is primarily in the voice
of the main character, you can't help looking at the various situations
through the eyes of each person involved and trying to understand how each
gains and acts on his/her perspective. Well written; key characters well developed.
