Dale Israel: I have never been a very big fan
of fantasy books but the reviews on Amazon were so favorable I decided to
expand my horizons and give it a try. This is an older book that was first published in 1970.
It is the first book of the Authurian Saga and tells the story of Myriddn Emrys, better known
as the magician Merlin. Mary Stewart is a very talented author who brings to life characters
from long ago. Merlin narrates the story of his life beginning when he was just a small boy
and this first book ends just before the birth of King Arthur. I adore historical fiction and
this one did not disappoint. I traveled to far off places from long ago. I really enjoyed
this book and will read other books in this series. It's a gem!
