Gwendolyn Waring: A fascinating read! I must
preface this review by saying I love family histories, politics and history in general.
If you do not like history this is not the book for you. David Remnick creates a painstakingly
detailed quilt of the factors that came together to make Barack Obama the man who he
is and the choices he made to be in his unique position in history.
The book details Chicago politics, the civil rights leaders and the family histories of
the President's ancestors who created the "bridge" that brought us President Barack Obama.
