Arlene Almas: In this darkly humorous story,

unattractive, he somehow has the gift of attracting women; his fifth marriage is about to
dissolve due to his lifelong habit of carrying on extramarital affairs. His work and personal
lives converge in a shocking accident, resulting in a new direction for his scientific endeavors,
albeit on a decidedly bumpy path. "Solar" is an intriguingly satirical look at the competitive
side of science and the lengths to which people will go to justify their actions.
