Return to Sullivan's Islandby Dorothea Benton Frank |
Wanda Cohen: This is a sweet
story of love, lust, infatuation, friendship, insanity
and of course family. It's set on beautiful Sullivans Island
where the sunsets make you want to freeze time and the tide
rules the ebb and flow of more than just the water.
Beth Hayes has just graduated from college and wants to be independent
and conquer the world. Instead she has to house sit for a year while
her mom follows her own dream and moves to France.
This house has been in the family for generations and is as much
a living breathing part of the family circle as Beth herself.
As a matter of fact, some of the ancestors come back to visit from
time to time even though they aren't still living or breathing!
Beth has no idea what's in store for her.
This is a fun read with enough plot to keep you interested
but not enough to keep you up nights reading with a flash
light under the covers. Dorothea has written better but it's still good enough. Excellent beach book!
