Nobody's Foolby Richard Russo |
Barb Crout: I happen to think that Russo is one of the
best fiction writers and I have read many of his books. He is a master
of character creation and they "live" long after the book is finished.
Nobody's Fool is the story of a man who is boisterous and entirely lovable,
who storms from one disaster to another and never seems to get ahead in
life - and, maybe, doesn't want to. His colorful friends in this small
town are steadfast - and so are his enemies. I will never forget "Miss Beryl"
and "Rub" - and neither will you. This book is filled with laugh-out-loud humor,
has its share of pathos with a little shock thrown in. What a writer!
