Linda Berlin: These books are still the
most captivating I've ever read.
P.L.Travers published the first book in 1943.
I received them as a gift from a relative in 1963 and read them
many, many times. The
adventures of the stern nanny that blew in and out with the wind have
little to do with the Disney movie. Escapism and fantasy, sometimes with
a dark side, and from an adult point of view, some life lessons too! I
think I'll start reading them again...
