Arlene Almas (11/28/11): Jake Lassiter is a one-man law office located
in South Florida, where I live - I actually recognized some of the street names in the book! When Amy
Larkin brings Jake the case of her sister Krista, who disappeared 18 years ago, he must act as a detective
to learn what happened to her. What Jake doesn't tell Amy is that he remembers seeing Krista earlier on the
night she disappeared. His search for answers to the question of Krista's fate puts him at risk of harm from
some powerful and shady individuals in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area, but he perseveres. The narrative has
lots of action, and the characters, if not entirely believable, do grab your attention.
