We just returned from a two week trip to The Big Island and found this guidebook invaluable. We also noticed that many other tourists were carrying the same book.

The Big Island. This fifth edition of his guidebook contains detailed
regional maps with mileposts and sights along the way. The book also
describes Hawaiian culture, food, adventure activities, and almost
anything else you need to know to ensure an excellent vacation.
We found his honest reviews to be right on target and the information
to be accurate.
